I decided to share the post recently published on our site hoping the reading would be beneficial for anyone thinking of applying to Ukrainian uni via an agent.
Is edu-ukraine.com a scam website? According to their website it is recommended by the Ukranian Goverment. The certificate is apparently their too. But they ask you to pay $400, only after that they issue the invitation letter. I am not sure how stuff works in Ukraine but I dealed with UCAS when I applied for UK and that time to apply for five universities I had to pay only twenty something pounds. Isn't $400 too much just for the invitation letter? And is it not the university which issues it so shouldn't the payment be made for the uni instead.
I sent a lot of emails asking them a lot of questions. The replies they sent gave me a shock. One sentence reply and that too in broken English. But the latest email they sent when I asked why I have to pay the the full tiution fee to them and why cannot I pay it to the University directly was simply awesome. The reply they sent is below
DONT DISTURB US AGAIN READ WELL AGAIN
DONT DISTURB US AGAIN, TAKE YOUR FEE AND TAKE IT INTO YOU ***, AND THEN GO ANYWHERE, NOT UKRAINE
I was appaled after reading this. I don't think I want to have any further correspondence with them at all...... [/FONT]

“Another clone .....
We came across another agent offering services for foreign students.

We noticed that STAR EDUCATION CONSULTANTS seems to be a clone of Study in Ukraine agent
Same wording on websites, same arrogance and very generous silly promises:

Give us a break Yousaf. you are the same like them…one of those irritatingly incompetent and infuriatingly unhelpful bunch of twats!!!
I think there is no point to carry on any further
Services they offer are utter disgrace and the guy should be banned from running any educational business consultancy in Ukraine.
--Isn't $400 too much just for the invitation letter?
It is rip-off and makes me laugh when Yousuf says:
“ Star Education Consultants Ukraine is an exporter of Ukraine Education & Training products. Not only the quality of the goods is superior but also the price is moderate. We sincerely invite you to visit us! ”
- According to their website it is recommended by the Ukrainian Government.
Doubt it a lot but would be interested to speak to the rep of the Ministry of Education in Ukraine. I will let you know the outcome of my conversation with the Ministry representative
--The reply they sent is below

Hey! I'm a student in Volgograd State Medical University, and I just arrived about, 20 days ago. And I hate it here. The hostels are not comfortable and there are so many hidden costs!
So, I was thinking of transferring to a different school. Smolensk Medical Academy sounds good enough and I have heard good things about it from one of my friends living there.
So, what is your opinion? I mean, maybe some of you may have had this problem.. are you too dissatisfied with VolSMU???
hey plz.... Can someone one inform me, that which university is best for indian students in russia????? I heard about smolensk state medical uni. ... any review abt it???
I am looking into various Russian medical schools and I read that Kursk State Medical University was the first Russian university to offer full medical courses in English.
Can a student complete their course work without a working knowledge of Russian? Can a student live in Kursk without an understanding of Russian?
And I how does a student get to Kursk? Is it best to train from Moscow? Or can you fly to Kursk from another European city (Kiev, Minsk or another city - or just from Moscow)?
What are the recommended hotels for a visit to Kursk? It is a "modern" enough European city or still consider "rural" Russian?
First Moscow State Medical University (former Moscow Medical Academy) calls for selection candidates to work as volunteers during the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. THE STAR magazine, MALAYSIA:
The undergraduate medical programmes offered by Ukraine's Crimea State Medical University (CSMU) is no longer recognised by the Health Ministry. Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the university had been removed from the Second Schedule of the Medical Act, which lists the 375 recognised medical institutions from 34 countries. Effective March 28, any graduate from CSMU must sit for and pass a licensing examination before being registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC), he said in a statement yesterday. CSMU, one of Ukraine's premier medical schools, was recognised by the MMC after a visit in August 2001, becoming the first Ukrainian university to be included in the Second Schedule. However, the university was de-recognised by the council in 2005. Among the reasons cited for the withdrawal were the dubious qualifications of students admitted into the institute's medical studies, the difficulty faced by its medical graduates in using jargon in English and the possible strain on the quality of teaching due to the sudden increase in intake since 2001. The then-MMC president Datuk Dr Ismail Merican had said the decision would not affect the 1,119 Malaysian students who were already registered with the university. Following appeals from CSMU, the MMC held another three-day visit there in October last year. Unfortunately, the review panel still found serious weaknesses in the programmes, which it said did not meet accreditation criteria. This decision was made professionally after considering all aspects, especially the safety of patients and the impact on medical graduates and their families, Liow said, adding that medical graduates from CSMU would not be denied their right to sit for the licensing examination.
